On April 22, 2008, a signing ceremony marking the only corporate partnership for volunteer services at the Beijing Olympic regatta in Qingdao City was held at Qingdao International News Center. At the briefing, leaders of the Youth League Qingdao Municipal Committee and Haier Group marked the cooperation between Haier and Olympic volunteers by appointing Haier the only corporate partner for volunteer services in the Olympic sailing city of Qingdao. Haier has supported the Beijing Olympics as host since becoming a sponsor of the Games in August 2005. Taking "Heritage and Promoting the Olympic Spirit" as its core value, the Group is fulfilling its mission as host by supporting construction work and providing services to the Games. This latest announcement of Haier's full support for volunteer work in the Olympic city of Qingdao provides a clearer demonstration of Haier's extensive backing of the Olympic Games.

In addition, as sponsor of the Chinese team at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Haier is actively fulfilling its role as Olympic host by continuing to independently innovate and develop Olympic products in keeping with the spirit of "Environmental Protection, Science, Technology and Humanity," and by actively implementing the Green Olympic stadium Plan. So far, Haier has supplied 31 categories of appliances to more than 30 Olympic venues, including the International Stadium, the Water Cube, and the Olympic Sailing Center. Haier solar-powered air conditioners, silent refrigerators, detergent-free washing machines, and "anti-power" wall heaters are already providing reliable service during Olympic test events.
